ICTAS2023
This marks the 7th edition of the ICTAS conference following six successful annual
events and can boast of being the longest-running IEEE-sponsored conference on the
continent of Africa. A common guiding mantra gathers us and binds us in a cohesive
cause that is, to improve the lives and livelihoods of a global society through innovating
ICT. We are glad to shake off the shackles of the global pandemic and gradually move
the conference to normality by hosting a hybrid conference for 2023 year.
After submission, all papers were double-blind reviewed by an international committee
of reviewers selected by the Technical Committee. Papers were rated according to
quality, relevance, correctness, and originality. The Technical Committee used these
reviews to determine which papers were accepted for presentation in the conference.
All papers were submitted to a plagiarism service to check the originality of its
contents. In total, 59 papers were received, 26 were accepted and 33 rejected, making
the acceptance rate 44,06%.
The Faculty of Accounting and Informatics at the DUT is proud to be part of ICTAS,
to provide support and watch it grow from a fledgling to a highly recognized international
conference. In 2020, a global accolade saw ICTAS receive commendation from Scimago
Journal and Country Rankings, SIR Ranking of United States which noted H-Index: 4.
Today, ICTAS has an H-Index of 6 which evidences the high quality and relevant contributions
to its knowledge areas. Further to this, accepted papers were published in IEEE Xplore
and indexed by Scopus which attracts subsidy from the South African Department of
Higher Education.
ICTAS2023 acknowledges the hard work and dedication of the authors resulting in high-quality
